A bit more technical?

Hey!

Sorry, It’s been a while since I posted anything up on the blog so you could say I’m a bit excited. But why am I back all of a sudden? Well… I had a thought. As everyone and their hopefully healthy mother knows, the pandemic has made things pretty tough for all of us. I’ve been struggling a bit photography-wise. And by a bit, I mean quite a considerable amount. But things are starting to get better nowadays. I’ve finally landed a decent job that still pays even through the lockdowns so I can’t complain as much anymore. What’s even better is the fact that it’s a photography-related job. It’s a lot less glamorous than it sounds though. It’s in retail. I’m selling cameras in a shop again just like I used to in London. I enjoy it though. I get to help people with their photography and allow them to get more for their money instead of them just giving in to the marketing. I prefer when they walk away with a much cheaper bit of kit they’ll get better use from than what we make more money on. Just don’t tell my bosses. The job also gives me an interesting opportunity to play with a decent selection of new and interesting gear. A lot. And I also write reviews for the shop’s website. Mostly random gear like tripods, bags and the strangest items (Seriously, they want me to review stuff like backpack straps and quick release plates for tripods… Who’s reading those?) So here’s the thought.

What if I write more reviews on this blog? I’ve already written one for my still very loved X-Pro2 over two years ago and to be fair it’s still my most visited page on this site. I’ve recently had some time with the new X-T4 for example so the review for that one is going up as you’re reading this. Don’t worry, I’ll try and keep it mostly for the camera gear and I’ll spare you the cheapo plastic tripods and canvas bags. So what do you think? Is it a waste of time or could it be of some use since I have access to all of that equipment which some of you might be curious about?

Given my recent posting schedule on this blog, I hope I’ll do a bit better than one post every two years. This could help it a bit. So head over to the Fujifilm X-T4 review and let me know if you’d like more of these.

In the meantime, I’m gonna see what bit of kit I could try and review next.
